A self-initiated compilation became the early concept for a book carrying Jacque Fresco’s insights forward.
RoleConcept Development — voluntary early-stage collaboration with Roxanne Meadows
The project
Do You Speak Future? Book of Insights is a published collection of 201 concise pieces of thought from futurist and social designer Jacque Fresco. The completed book gathers reflections on contemporary society and the possibilities of a more humane, sustainable future.
Kyle independently assembled an early compilation of selected Fresco quotations, developed it into an initial book proposition, and contacted Roxanne Meadows. He worked directly with Meadows during the project’s formative phase. She later assembled a wider team that refined the idea and completed the published book.
My contribution
Design logic
Kyle originated and developed the early proposition with Roxanne Meadows. The wider team she assembled refined and completed the published book.
The work began as Kyle’s own compilation and recognition that the material could become an approachable book.
Kyle brought the proposition to Roxanne Meadows and worked with her while the idea was taking shape.
When Kyle had to step away, Meadows and the wider team continued the project; he does not claim their later decisions or labor.
Tools used
A private compilation became a practical book proposition that another creator and organization could develop.
Many individual statements were recognized as parts of one accessible expression of Fresco’s wider worldview.
The concept gave disparate quotations one purpose: introducing readers to a consistent way of seeing society and the future.
Kyle developed the early idea directly with Meadows, then left it with the team without claiming authorship of the work completed after his departure.
